Cleveland Model & Supply Company, the oldest, continuously-operating model airplane plan company in the world, was founded in 1926 by Edward T. Pachasa (later Packard). Mr. Packard started the business with his four brothers, his mother and father in their residence and a converted barn near West 57th Street and Bridge Avenue, on the west side of Cleveland Ohio.
1905: The U. S. Government entered into negotiations with the Wright Brothers to purchase one airplane.
1911: Eugene B. Ely made the first successful landing on a ship when he landed his Curtiss pusher on an improvised landing deck on the stern of the cruiser U. S. S. Pennsylvania.
1950: First flight of the U. S. Lockheed F-94, "Starfire", all-weather, jet-engine-powered fighter aircraft.
